I live in Vancouver (BC, Canada)! I moved here from Ontario and now I don’t appreciate any cities without mountains in their skylines.
This blog is about my experiences in Vancouver. Mostly this involves hiking, checking out my South Cambie neighbourhood (on Oak St as the blog domain name suggests), and hanging out with friends. I enjoy taking photos everywhere I go and I plan to share them here!
The name “Outside the lab in Vancouver” comes about because during the day (and many evenings, and many weekends, and many holidays) I am a PhD candidate conducting biomedical research with the aim of developing new strategies for cancer therapy. Like any good graduate student I spend much time in the lab, but that won’t be the focus of my writing for this blog!
Beyond science and hiking, here are a few other things that I enjoy: coffee, baseball, bicycling, stand-up comedy shows.
